Vehicle description
** £700 no offers **Selling on behalf of my girlfriends father. Hes recently bought a newer Astra estate, so this one needs to go. Hes only the second owner from new, having bought it in 2012 at under 18 months old, from Durham Vauxhall.
Its a good spec car with front and rear parking sensors (all working), front centre armrest, roof rails, electric handbrake etc. It runs and drives but were selling as spares/repairs, due to the following:
The engine management light sometimes comes on. Plugged it in and its showing code: P2282 (air leak between throttle body and intake valves). Intercooler pipe is the most likely culprit as this is a very common fault on the 2.0 Astras and Insignias. The parts about £40 and takes 30 mins to replace. As a result, its not boosting properly. Still drives fine just a little down on power. It doesnt run rough or lumpy at all, and its not in limp mode
Theres a knock somewhere on the front suspension over bumps
Clutch noise when disengaged in neutral. Goes away when clutch depressed or when driving. There is no slipping/juddering and pedal is right in the middle of the travel
Theres an occasional warning for low oil pressure on cold start (disappears after 4-5 seconds and doesnt return). Could be a sensor or could be an actual fault undiagnosed
Even with the above, the Astra still runs and drives fine, and has been doing long motorway trips up until last week when the replacement car was bought.
The bodywork is in above average condition for a 12yr old 170k mile car. There are a few small scrapes/marks/dents here and there which are visible in the photos. The wheels and tyres are in decent condition all round. The interior is in very good condition with no damage to any upholstery/trim etc.
Massive folder of service history. This isnt the usual abused workhorse thats been run into the ground, its generally been very well looked after. It does need a few bits doing but should need very little spending to get it through another MOT (due 08/12/2023). Recent battery, brakes (pads and calipers), starter motor etc.
