Welcome to the sale of my Vauxhall Astra Twin TopThis is the rarer, top-of-the-range model producing 200bhp and benefits from being ULEZ-compliant. It has the powerful, quick, 2.0T petrol engine, consisting of a six-speed gearbox, and a sports mode button that enhances handling and response over other Twin Top models. The car has several features including: full leather interior, Air-Con, electric folding roof and mirrors, heated front seats (you can have the roof down in winter), with a low mileage for its age.
I have owned this car for 9 years, and it has been extremely reliable. I have lots of old receipts. The car has just passed its MOT today (04/03/25) with no advisories. The car is in very good condition for its age, with only a few minor scuffs (mainly on the alloys from the previous owner, which never bothered me).
I am selling because for the past 34 years (excluding a couple of camping trips), I've only used the car once a week to drive to 5-a-side football, and I simply cant justify keeping it anymore. Additionally, road tax is due in April, and my parking space will soon require a permit costs I'm not willing to take on.
Honest points to consider:
Due to a football injury, I recently left the car unused from August 2024 - February 2025. During this time, I had accidentally left the rear windows slightly open and water has got inside. This caused some mould to form (including in the boot). I have since cleaned it out and placed silica packs inside however it could really do with being left open and airing out to completely dry (certainly not in this weather or where I live)!
The roof has always worked perfectly for me, but due to the length of time and water issue, I am tentative about opening it.
The spanner light is illuminated on the dash. I believe this is due to an overdue service? The car starts and drives perfectly without any issues.
No built in Bluetooth. Easy fix- I have always used a bluetooth FM radio transmitter, which plugs into the cigarette lighter- I will include this in the sale.
The car has been a pleasure to own, especially during the summer. Id love it to go to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have.
