The RAV4 has long been regarded as one of the best 4x4 SUVs out there - Our late 2006 MK3 model is a shining example of what makes the RAV4 great. This remarkable XT4 model of the sought after, 5 door, 4 wheel drive powered by the sought after 2 litre 16-valve engine which provides it with superb performance and a smooth, relaxing drive. If you want comfort and performance with sure footed four-wheel drive ability then the Rav4 provides all of this in a neat and handsome package that is little bigger than a regular family saloon. As a result it feels a lot more nimble than larger 4 wheel drives and is easy to maneuver and park.
The cars bodywork is in excellent condition and is finished in metallic silver which looks stunning. There is a small imperfection on the N/S front bumper corner as well as a light mark on the rear bumper corner but these are so slight they do not detract from an overall clean and bright look to the exterior with unmarked alloy wheels and a good shine to the metallic coachwork. The car has covered 138k miles from new and comes with a large amount of history having been owned by its previous keeper the past 5 years. This car is showing barely any sign of wear - It still drives like new and it looks as good as new, as you can see from the pictures! The specification is great with both climate control and an electric sunroof which gives the interior an airy feel. The Rav4 is an accommodating car. It's comfortable and roomy interior is the perfect place to unwind whilst to the rear you have a capacious 565 litre boot with a flat floor and large side hinged door. This car has never towed, but should you want to fit a towbar it has a large 1500kg towing capacity making it ideal for small to medium sized caravans.
You may note that this is a 4 wheel drive model with selectable all-wheel drive lock from a dashboard mounted switch - You should be aware that not all Rav4's are 4 wheel drive, but I would recommend paying a little extra to have one that is. This car really is an absolute joy to drive - It is so easy and maneuverable and it feels strong and secure. Toyotas build quality is legendary and this car feels as though it has been built to last a lifetime.
The Rav4 is not like other 4x4s, it was designed to perform superbly on the road as well as off it. It goes, stops and handles like a regular saloon car. The ride and handling are better than most conventional sports saloons and you could happily cruise along at 70mph all day and which will provide you with a fantastic level of comfort on your journey. The driving position is excellent and visibility is superb - Its an easy and rewarding car to drive, and feels as though it has been built to last. With its superb handling and road-holding the Rav4 is guaranteed to please the keen driver, as well as those who want comfort and luxury. Well weighted steering and powerful ABS brakes ensure that no aspect of this cars drive is compromised.
As well as smart alloys our car is fitted with ESP stability and traction control, which along with the 4x4 system ensure the Rav4 stays safe an controllable in all weather conditions. Talking of comfort this XT4 model comes with some of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. Toyotas interior design is a lesson in excellent design and build quality. All the interior fittings are constructed of high quality materials that are well put together - the whole car feels as though it were built to last. That solidity transfers itself to the feeling you get on the move - That solid stance reassures you and gives you the feeling that this car is well planted on the road. You will always feel safe and secure behind the wheel of your Rav4.
Despite having covered 138k miles from new you would be hard pushed to notice any sign of adverse wear on this car. The whole thing still feels as new with breathtaking performance and superb road-holding. The change on the 5-speed manual gearbox is slick and very smooth, the steering well weighted and precise. Performance is also impressive thanks to a 2 litre 16 valve engine which delivers 149bhp which feels smooth and eager to please. 0-60 mph takes just over 10 seconds and the Rav4 will go on to a top speed of 115mph It's comfortable and easy to live with. My personal favorite car in this sector and a model that has a superb record for longevity and reliability.
