Vehicle description
2006 Lexus IS250 SE-L model- 2.5l V6
- 158,800 miles - Mile will rise slightly as I'm still using the car now and again.
- 2 owners from new, me being the second.
- Full service history, most of it being done by Lexus Bristol. I have stacks of paperwork, original owners handbook & manual, 2 sets of keys and receipt of original purchase from 2007 when the car had 10,000 miles, I purchased it with 153,000 on the clock from the same guy. The car had been in Lexus ownership up to 10,000 miles
- Automatic Transmission - Cheaper to Tax than the Manual version
- 12 months MOT - 0 advisories on latest MOT (Expires 27th September 2025)
- ULEZ Compliant
A change in job closer to home means I no longer need my Lexus and will be sharing my wifes car. Sad to see it go as it's been faultless during my ownership.
Being an SE-L model the car benefits from:
- Satnav screen/touch screen audio set up (Able to play DVDs if you wanted)
- Keyless entry & push button start
- Auxiliary input for audio
- Cruise control
- Auto headlights with auto level adjustment
- Cold A/C with dual zone climate control
- Heated rear window & Wing Mirrors
- Heated Wipers
- Reversing Camera & Parking Sensors front & rear
- Folding mirrors & dipping function when in reverse
- Top of the range Mark Levinson sound system
- Heated and cooled drivers and passenger seats
- Full black leather interior
- Electric drivers and passenger seats with memory function
- Electric adjustable steering wheel with memory function
- Auto Dim rear view mirror
- Rear window electric blind
The car also has a custom stainless steel back boxes that the previous owner had fitted due to the originals rusting and falling off. They're made really well with the correct join to the centre section exhaust rather than just a cut and weld on the original pipework. Theyre not loud by any means, but give the car a nicer sound than standard where you can nicely hear the V6 when higher in the rev range, but at idle and normal driving the sound difference is barely noticeable.
During my ownership Ive added a few parts to the car, trying to keep the car as standard as possible, and serviced it myself (paperwork to prove within documents), these include:
- Tesla model 3 alloys with Michelin pilot sport 4 tyres all round. 225/40/18 Front & 235/45/18 Rears (All have 4mm or more tread left)
- New Drilled and grooved MTEC rear discs with new slider pins, rubber boots & pads (Fitted in 2024)
- New headlight bulbs
- K&N air filter (Came with the car)
- Oil and filter Service at 155,035 miles
- New Denso spark plugs fitted at 155,035 miles, throttle body & MAF sensor cleaned whilst installing the spark plugs
- Rear Differential oil changed and gaskets replaced at 154,000
- Front lower rear control arm bushes replaced at 154,000
- Automatic transmission fluid, filter & gasket replaced at 155,500 miles, genuine Toyota/Lexus fluid & parts were used (see pictures)
- Bluetooth adapter fitted to the Stereo that allows audio to by played from phones without needing to connect through the aux port, allowing you to charge the phone whilst playing music. This also allows you to change track & volume using the steering wheel buttons.
Given the car is 18 years old, it does show its age in some areas so viewing is very much welcomed, Ive tried to pick up most of the areas in the photos:
- The bonnet & some of the bumper paintwork is faded and has general stone chips as for most of its life the car was on the motorway before my ownership
- General marks around the car and very small scratches in places, but the bulk of the marks are on the front bumper/bonnet with a small scuff on the driver-side front wing (Pictured)
Ive been honest with the Ad so to save any surprises when viewing! The exterior of the car isn't pristine, but ok for an 18 year old car, but more importantly mechanically and interior wise the car is in really great condition.
Overall the Lexus has been an amazing car, super reliable and Im sure if serviced regularly would go on further than 200,000 miles without any hesitation, which was my original plan when buying the car. The Lexus/Toyota brand are renowned for their reliability, Ive done plenty of long, comfortable journeys in the Lexus, it always drives really smooth and has returned 41.3 mpg on a runs to London & Cornwall, not too bad for a 2.5l V6!
I have a brand new rear caliper, handbrake shoes and a box of service parts, spare oil, new air filter etc that can go with the car for free. I also have some Goodridge Braided rear brake lines that I'll let go with the car for the right price.
