Vehicle description
Selling this cheap as there are quite a few issues which I don't have the time to work on. But let's start with the positives:- 6 month's MOT
- starts and runs perfectly, never had a problem during the 5 years I had it
- 82,000 genuine miles
- cambelt change at 70,000 miles
- Sony CD player
- front electric window
- spare wheel
The issues:
- some scratches on the corner and dent on passenger rear door
- both wing mirror covers, one side moulding and one wheel cover missing
- boot intermittently stops locking
- fuel gauge doesn't work
- screen wash reservoir leaks
- loud tappets, this is common in Corsas and Astras and not been an issue for me. I always ensure there's enough engine oil
- there's a rattling noise from underneath, on inspection there's nothing loose underneath except for a bit of metal which is slightly loose. I don't think it's a structural concerns as I've been driving it like this for few months without any issues. It passed the MOT like this
- engine management light comes on when the rev goes over 3000 rpm, but light goes away when the car is turned off. I had this looked at when I first got the car 5 years ago. Mechanic tried a couple of thing but still wasn't fixed. He advised it's nothing to worry about and he was right, never had any issues with the engine. The light only comes on when driving on the motorway at high speeds.
- remote locking doesn't work
- front wheels need changing
- heating takes a while to heat up
- you'll have to carry 2 keys, one for the door and one for the ignition as I had to get the barrel changed couple of years ago.
If you're still reading this after the above list, then you must be interested at least slightly, so drop me a message if you want any further information.
