Vehicle description
1980 Triumph TR8 fully restored to the tune of £45,000!Originally destined for California as a LHD, this example was rebuilt by Triumph as a right hand drive TR8 and as a result was fitted with the 3.5 litre V8 engine with a manual gearbox and sold in the UK.Purchased by the current registered keeper in 2011, he kept the car in storage before sending it to British classic car restorers M. V. Classics Ltd., of Southampton, Hampshire in 2014. Over the next two and half years they were responsible for the complete restoration at a cost in excess of £45,000, this included professional painting the car in this incredible and faultless shade of blue whilst the interior retrimmed with black leather and a new black soft top roof. In 2018 it was registered in Guernsey where it has remained, with very little use, until being re-imported to the UK and registered with its original factory registration number. Further work was carried out while in the Channel Islands this included a new alternator and replacing the twin SU's, with manifold, for a new 'four pot' Holly downdraft carburettor.Supplied with a V5 registration document and a file containing old MoT test certificates, a Heritage certificate, photographs and invoices from the restoration. About Us:
Our promise: We ensure youll find your ideal classic car.
Just moments from the M25, or a 23-minute train ride from London Liverpool Street and the City, our Fairmont Sports & Classics showroom team in Brentwood is committed to changing the way classic vehicles are bought and sold.
Classic models across the decades
Our stocklist with new vehicles arriving daily spans popular and iconic vehicles from the 60s through to the late 90s and beyond.
Over two floors we present a curated selection of more than 50 sports and classic cars plus several motorcycles all fully inspected, checked and ready to drive away, delivered, or shipped overseas.
We buy well so youre not at risk
The buying team comprises seasoned motor industry professionals: our backgrounds span retail sales, fleet management, auction, wholesale, and service, inspection and maintenance. Having grown up with, driven and loved countless classics ourselves, we know what our customers look for: models and marques piquing current market interest; examples that are in excellent usable condition and order; and vehicles that represent a sound, good value investment.
An online portal search for any classic model will list several hundred vehicles across the UK. The unfortunate truth is that the vast majority, under scrutiny, will prove sub-standard, misrepresented or require uneconomic restoration or repair. Finding a good vehicle without motor trade experience is not for the faint-hearted.
We purchase our cars from private owners, collections and specialist auction houses. We are exceptionally selective about which vehicles we buy, when and why; we reject over 90% of all those we see. Those we purchase match varying customer demands: best in market and fully original; fully or partially restored examples; and sound, practical, fun classics to be driven and enjoyed.
Whether youre an investor, an enthusiast, or simply keen to recapture your youth, wed love to help you find your ideal classic.
Warranty:
We want every customer to be confident in their purchase. Whilst we sell nationwide, many of our sales are local, with some customers revisiting to buy, sell or service more vehicles.
To ensure a worry-free motoring experience, we include our own pre-owned vehicle warranty and provide full servicing and support on-site.
The price of every car includes a six-month warranty for major component failure: engine, transmission, and final drive. For the first three months, it covers the cost of any essential parts and labour. Thereafter we provide a 50% discount on any essential parts and labour for the remaining three.
We also operate our own on-site workshop offering specialist classic vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs. The same mechanics that inspected and prepared your vehicle for sale will be delighted to keep it in good working order throughout your ownership.
