Vehicle description
This lot will be auctioned via Historics Classic and Sportscar Auctioneers, The Bicester Heritage sale on Saturday the 23rd of September, Bicester Heritage, OX26 5HA. The Alfa Romeo Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993 and is widely regarded as a design classic. It remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. The final Alfa Romeo Spider and the last rear wheel drive vehicle produced before the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione debuted in May 2012 was produced in April 1993. The first presentation of the car, as a prototype, was at the Turin Motor Show in 1961; however, the continuing success of existing models and the economic challenges facing Italy at the time meant that the first pre-launch Spiders only began to emerge from the Pininfarina production line at the end of 1965. The 1300 and 2000 cars were modified in 1974 and 1975 respectively to include two small seats behind the front seats, becoming a 2+2. This right hand drive Alfa Romeo Spider was originally registered in South Africa and has recently been imported into the UK. It is fitted with a 2.0 litre engine which also has a turbo fitted to it. The bodywork is in good condition as is the biscuit-coloured interior. Supplied with a NOVA certificate and a current MoT test certificate valid until 19th June 2024, this handsome Alfa Romeo offers wind in the hair motoring for a modest outlay.Central Locking; Electronic Stability Program (ESP); Tuning; Safety Belt Pretensioners
